The Essex Terminal Railway Company (ETR) is a switching (or short line) railway that runs from the east side of Windsor, ON through the Town of LaSalle and terminates in Amherstburg, ON.
The mainline of the ETR runs in a generally southwest direction for some 54 km in a route that roughly parallels the Detroit River which separates Windsor from Detroit, Michigan.
Incorporated in 1902, the ETR provides switching services for local customers engaged in the industrial, automotive, lumber, steel, agricultural, scrap metal, alcohol, and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) industry sectors as well as serving our sister companies, Morterm Limited and Motipark Automotive Storage, providing rail access for our Great Lakes transload facility, connecting these customers to CN, CPKCR and CSX. With these direct connections, the ETR facilitates your cargo traveling to any point in the rail networks of Canada, the United States and Mexico.
